Surprise surprise

The plan for today was trying to get some shots at the White-tailed eagle. While waiting in my hideout this mink came up in the waterfront for a short while before it went to its burrow. The American mink is blacklisted here in Norway since it’s not originally belongs to our fauna and the damage it’s doing in the environment. But what a beautiful animal!

Evening light

Today is the shortest day during the year and the daylight will from here on start to gain a few more minutes per day 🙂 This time of the year often offers us really nice winter light. So yesterday I was able to capture these shots while trying out some long shutter speeds.

European Starling

Have been out by the coast the past 3 days, taking pictures of Whooper swans, European starlings, Snow Buntings and other birds. Here are some pictures of the European starling!

European starlings and Tree sparrows.

Månafossen

The cold has taken a hold of Stavanger, so now even big waterfalls starting to freeze over. I was out all day taking pictures of Månafossen, a waterfall with 92 meters of free fall. This free fall makes some of the water turn to snow and as you can see in the pictures it has created a volcanic crater 🙂

Winter birds

If you wonder why I havn’t post anything in the last two weeks it’s been really busy beacuse I have moved to a new place 🙂
Lots to pack and move but i managed to get a day out in the sun. And now since internet is up running again i will share some pics from this day!
